      The first national seminar on the verification and inspection of medical wrapping materials and aiding materials for medical use was held in Ha’erbin from 25th June -26th June. The seminar exchanged opinions on the improvement of the ability to verify and inspect medical wrapping materials and aiding materials for medical use of the food and drug inspection bureaus nationwide and other respects.
      The seminar pointed out that, as the industry of medical wrapping and aiding materials for medical use is developing by leaps and bounds and that the third party inspection organization has begun to provide social verification and inspection services after the reform on food supervising system, the food and drug inspection organizations responsible for drug safety inspection are faced with new challenges. Therefore, the national food and drug inspection organization should strengthen the construction of capability and raise the level of verification of and inspection on national wrapping materials and aiding materials for medical use. Establish the lab standards and requirements for wrapping materials and aiding materials for medical use from a holistic perspective for the national inspection organizations by improving the quality system construction of the laboratory; provide technical groundings for monitoring and managing by strengthening the construction of the standard system of wrapping materials and aiding materials for medical use; establish the safety evaluation system and the quality guarantee system of wrapping materials and aiding materials for medical use gradually by implementing technical research and risk assessment; nurture a good number of discipline leaders and technical professionals in the field of basic technical research and verification by strengthening the talent construction.
      The seminar was initiated by China Food and Drug Verification Institute and executed by the Food and Drug Verification Institute of Heilongjiang Province. Specialists from Chinese Pharmacopoeia Committee and Chinese Standardization Institute and other units made keynote speeches at the seminar. Totally 130 associated leaders from the food and drug verification institutes from all the provinces (districts and cities) and part of the provincial and municipal medical appliance and medical wrapping material verification institute attended the seminar.
